Iphigenia in Splott by Gary Owen

Geoffrey Whitworth Theatre presents Iphigenia in Splott

A fierce and darkly funny reimagining of a Greek classic, Iphigenia in Splott drags ancient myth into the raw, unfiltered reality of modern-day Cardiff. Effie lives hard, fast and loudly, until one extraordinary act of sacrifice forces her to confront the truth about herself and the world around her. Defiant, electric and deeply human, this one-woman powerhouse lays bare the cost of survival in a system stacked against you. Funny, brutal and unexpectedly tender, Iphigenia in Splott is gripping contemporary theatre that hits with real force, combining sharp wit, searing honesty and emotional depth in a story that feels both urgent and unforgettable.
